Job Summary

Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Associate to join their dynamic team. The Tax Associate will assist in the preparation, review, and analysis of tax returns and filings, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in tax laws and regulations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and filing of individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
  • Conduct tax research to stay up to date on changes in tax laws and regulations, providing guidance to the team on their impact.
  • Support tax audits and assist in the preparation of supporting documentation as needed.
  • Review financial statements and supporting documentation to ensure accurate tax reporting.
  • Assist with special projects, including tax planning, compliance reviews, and internal tax audits.
  • Work closely with senior tax professionals to identify tax savings opportunities and provide insights for clients.
  • Maintain accurate records and files for all tax returns and documents.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, answering tax-related inquiries and providing assistance with tax matters.
  • Prepare work papers and schedules for tax compliance and reporting purposes.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in tax preparation or tax advisory services.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws, with a focus on individual and business taxation.
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., Thomson Reuters, Ultra Tax, or similar).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification is a plus.
