Senior Lighting Programmer – Lighting Lead
The job and purpose of the Senior Lighting Programmer and all CPR employees is to maintain and ensure that the established company policies, SOPs, and safety protocols are adhered to and maintained at all times. The Lighting Lead position requires technical skill, knowledge, and experience working with professional lighting. Reports directly to the corresponding department Warehouse Manager while working in the warehouse, and the corresponding department Show Manager when on a job site.
As a Lighting Lead you will be setting up the latest equipment & systems in preparation of events, staging, striking at the conclusion of events, and ensuring equipment is protected and secured during down periods.
- Responsible for set‑up, programming, operation and break‑down of client shows, including corporate events, trade shows, exhibits, concerts, theatrical productions.
- Directs tasks to lighting technicians and stagehands onsite as Crew Chief.
- Participates in tracking and monitoring onsite equipment.
- Programs consoles and works with Sales/Staff to produce renderings for shows.
- Coordinates with Sales/Staff to understand all aspects of the show.
- Ensures all equipment and packages are always 100% complete and show ready by assisting in prepping equipment to be scanned to outbound orders; addressing fixtures, patching consoles and dimmers, labeling chain hoist controllers.
- Troubleshoots damaged equipment and communicates to Manager on a course of action.
- Maintains a positive and supportive attitude at all times. Reports to Manager any conflicts, grievances from other staff, and any violations of company policies.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience using industry equipment. Must have experience programming and operating Grand
MA and Hog4 consoles. - Experience in leading lighting crews on site for load‑ins, shows, and load‑outs.
- Must be familiar with creating lighting plots with Vectorworks.
- Knowledge of rigging equipment and practices a plus.
- Ability to load/unload trucks, overhead lifting, lifting over 50 lbs, and pushing items over 100 lbs daily.
- Ability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Must pass criminal background check and have reliable transportation; punctuality required.
- High School Diploma required; college education preferred with a minimum of 3‑5 years’ experience in the entertainment production industry.
- Microsoft Word, Excel, and Flex Inventory control software knowledge a plus.
