Job Description
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineering CAD Software Specialist with deep expertise in CAD administration, particularly in Solid Works, to support and train our engineering team. You will play a vital role in developing libraries, setting standards, and leading strategic productivity initiatives to enhance our engineering processes.
ResponsibilitiesAct as a subject matter expert for Solid Works CAD/PDM applications, ensuring adherence to design standards and business processes.
Develop and implement a CUES modeling standard, securing team buy-in and overseeing model entry to ensure conformity.
Create and maintain an efficient library structure, aligning CAD data management with new product development and change processes.
Identify and execute continuous improvement initiatives to drive cost savings and increase efficiency within the ME CAD/PDM suite.
Lead development of new engineering solutions to support the mechanical engineering team.
Coordinate with IT team members for collaborative development projects requiring IT support.
Plan and execute necessary application upgrades and provide user support.
Develop and maintain best practices, training materials, and tools to enhance user efficiency.
Participate in and lead application support for mechanical engineering applications.
Coordinate mechanical CAD initiatives with other divisions and test new releases of engineering software.
Manage MCAD software administration, including customization and configuration to support business needs.
Support CAD/PLM rollout initiatives and act as a gatekeeper for library parts.
Design and develop mechanical components and systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Conduct product and component testing according to standards and regulatory requirements.
Identify potential technical improvements and cost reductions for existing products, processes, or services.
This is a hybrid role requiring a minimum of three days in the office per week. Travel is not required.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $35.00 - $53.00/hr.
