JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary Regal Boats is seeking a motivated self-starter to join our team as a Mechanical Engineer Intern. The Mechanical Engineer Intern contributes to Regal's mission of excellence by demonstrating a true passion for mechanisms and systems, with a desire to learn and develop. This individual will work alongside the Engineering Team to problem solve and assist with the design, build, and testing of new systems.

  • Assist with the design, build, and testing of new systems.
  • Work with the engineering team to assess different mechanisms and systems such as: fold down hull sides, power platforms, automated sliding doors, folding seat mechanisms, hinges, etc.
  • Plan, conceptualize, and create mechanical designs for new products.
  • Develop testing processes, and perform testing and validation of new designs.
  • Generate working prototypes for beta testing and demonstration.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support design work.
  • Create and review technical drawings, plans, and specifications using computer software.
  • Perform detailed documentation to track project development and design process.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

  • Practical understanding of mechanisms and systems, including but not limited to: fold down hull sides, power platforms, automated sliding doors, folding seat mechanisms, hinges, etc.

  • Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions, normal office environments or factory environments that are not climate controlled. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The factory in certain areas maintains a high fiberglass and dust environment.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.     Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision. Personal Protective Equipment might be required in certain areas of the factory including but not limited to safety glasses, respirator, hearing protection, gloves and protective garments.
