This Mechanical Engineer III role applies advanced mechanical systems design expertise to create construction documents, guide projects from design through completion, and serve as the primary liaison between the engineering team and the client. The position blends technical design, project management, communication, coordination, and mentorship of junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities- Manage project timelines and design communication between the engineering team and the client
- Support preparation of proposals and engineering agreements in alignment with company standards
- Produce mechanical systems design elements accurately and on schedule
- Deliver design work consistent with project scope, hours, and technical requirements
- Research design options aligned with project needs
- Select appropriate mechanical equipment based on project requirements
- Produce complete HVAC construction documents for permitting
- Prepare accurate load calculations and engineering specifications
- Execute QA/QC processes consistently
- Coordinate with internal and external project partners
- Provide timely consultation on schedules, site surveys, punch lists, codes, and standards
- Represent the firm in client meetings throughout construction
- Onboard, guide, and mentor junior engineers and designers
- Submit timely billing for assigned projects
- Follow company work rules, policies, and procedures
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve workflow, efficiency, and cost management
- Take on additional duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 3–5+ years of mechanical engineering experience
- Experience in project management
- Knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
- Knowledge of engineering drafting standards
- Understanding of design standards and engineering fundamentals
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standards
- Ability to interpret and produce construction drawings
- Proficiency in AutoCAD
- Proficiency in Revit
- Strong communication skills
- EIT and/or PE
Travel anticipated: 0–10%
CompensationEstimated Starting Salary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 (based on experience)
