Senior VDC (BIM) Specialist
We are seeking a Senior VDC (BIM) Specialist to translate design intent contract documents or 3D design models of Plumbing, Mechanical, and HVAC systems into detailed fabrication and installation Building Information Models (BIMs) using BIM fabrication modeling software. This position involves leading a project-level team, ensuring productivity, time management, quality, and adherence to group standards.
Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of skilled VDC Specialists to ensure project deadlines are met.
- Manage construction documents and maintain communication with the internal project team.
- Ensure the BIM team has current project-related information including submittals, specifications, and vendor-specific models.
- Collaborate with engineers and managers to produce LOD
400 BIM for mechanical and plumbing systems. - Coordinate spatial arrangements with the General Contractor and subcontractors.
- Attend weekly coordination meetings, onsite or virtually, to achieve spatial coordination of all trades.
- Generate and submit RFIs to the design team as needed.
- Create and annotate detailed shop, hanger, and sleeve drawings for fabrication and installation.
- Export hanger and sleeve coordinates for use by the robotic total station layout team for field layout.
- Communicate with field personnel to ensure fabrication and installation intent is clear on shop and spool drawings.
- Mentor and train VDC team members on modeling and collaboration software and on the creation of fabrication and installation drawings.
- Work with other team members to complete drawings and models to meet project schedules.
- Maintain training and education for team improvement in accuracy and productivity.
- Provide input to management on hardware and software requirements.
- Enhance communication between functional business partners.
- Participate in job interviews to represent the VDC team's capabilities.
- Leadership skills to lead a project team.

Skills & Qualifications
- 5 or more years of experience with the installation of mechanical or plumbing systems.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Autodesk Fabrication CADMEP, and Autodesk Navisworks.
- Proficiency in additional BIM software is advantageous.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
This position is fully remote reporting a mechanical contractor in Raleigh, NC.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Orlando, FL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $50.00/hr.
