Job Description:
- The Inventory Specialist is responsible for reviewing market inventory management of fiber optic construction materials and equipment.
- This role ensures that all necessary supplies are available for construction projects, manages inventory levels, and coordinates with suppliers and field teams to maintain efficient operations while maintaining optimal operating cost.
- This role is responsible for physical inventory audits, project material usage audits, project closeout, material transfers, material purchases, material forecast and monitoring material consumption by our general contractors.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Control:
Monitor inventory levels across all warehouses and suggest optimization opportunities to prevent shrinkage. Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies and work with appropriate teams to prevent future occurrences
- Supply Management: Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed to prevent shortages and delays in construction projects.
- Vendor Coordination: Communicate with suppliers to place orders and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Field Support:
Work closely with field employees to understand their supply needs and provide necessary materials promptly. - Data Management: Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, orders, and deliveries using inventory management software.
- Reporting: Generate regular reports on inventory status, usage, and forecasts to support project planning and budgeting.
- Loss Prevention: Execute protocols to minimize inventory loss and ensure the security of materials. Communication:
Communicate inventory status and issues to management in a timely manner to prevent financial impact to our business.
Skills:
- Strong organizational and communication skills, strong data analytics skills, proficiency in inventory management software, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 - Advanced Warehouse System is a plus.
The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
