The Work As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will:
• Design, assessment, troubleshooting and analysis of hardware

• Support development of new hardware leveraging existing system architecture.
• Support Proposal and BOE Preparation activities as required

• Lead and Participate in Design Reviews depending on complexity.
• Support production environments in researching obsolescence COTS and customer hardware.
• Apply technical knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting design drawings, manuals or simulator documents.

• Comply with site policy and procedures.
• Work in a fast paced environment.

• Perform other duties as assigned. Additional duties may include development of technical reports, white-papers, modification kits, Hardware Architecture Models/Diagrams, procedures for qualification test and evaluation of redesigns and prototypes to ensure compliance with customer objectives.

This position will require the selected candidate to have or obtain an Interim Secret level U.S. government security clearance before starting with Lockheed Martin, U.S. citizenship is a requirement for consideration. You possess a deep understanding of structures, mechanisms, and materials, demonstrated through your adept application of Mechanical Design Principles, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Your proficiency extends to utilizing mechanical modeling and analysis tools such as Solid Works/CREO and Thermal Desktop (or equivalent), showcasing your comprehensive knowledge in this domain. Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline, and 3 or more years of professional experience.

• Understanding of structures, mechanisms and materials

• Knowledge of Mechanical Design Principles including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

• Knowledge of mechanical modeling or analysis tools, such as Solid Works/CREO, Thermal Desktop (or equivalent)

• Understanding and ability to apply basic Mechanical Engineering principles, theories and concepts
Desired

Skills:

• Knowledge of aircraft training systems.

• Experience with Windchill/EPDM system

• Experience designing for additive manufacturing

• Experience designing for manufacturability

• Structural and thermo-structural knowledge and analysis capability is a plus but not a main requirement.
