We're looking for a Junior Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic team in our Orlando office. The Junior Electrical Engineer provides integral support to the department's core production group on a variety of complex and challenging projects, while being professionally mentored by senior level engineers and provided with continuous hands‑on training to ensure a successful career path.
Responsibilities- Prepare load calculations, specify, and coordinate layouts of electrical equipment, and perform power, lighting, lighting controls, grounding, lightning protection, communications, and fire alarm system design, and produce construction documents using REVIT or AutoCAD under the direction and supervision of senior engineers.
- Perform basic electrical calculations such as short circuit and voltage drop.
- Perform photometry calculations for normal and emergency lighting using lighting calculation software.
- Participate in inter‑discipline project coordination.
- Visit construction sites to review, monitor, and report construction progress.
- Follow the department's quality control vision through performing designer checks on construction documents.
- Participate in the department training plan and the firm's mentorship program.
- A minimum of bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four‑year college or university.
- 0–4 years of experience in Architecture and Engineering field.
- A positive and professional attitude that is centered on personal development to take advantage of all the career advancement opportunities within the department.
- US Citizenship (For Lynwood Office Only).
Having the following is a great plus:
- Familiarity with National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building and energy conservation codes.
- Basic knowledge of REVIT, AutoCAD, AGi
32, Microsoft Visual, Bluebeam Revu, and Microsoft One Note. - Passed the FE exam and is a current Engineer in Training (E.I.T.) or is in active preparation to take the FE exam.
