Deputy Department Manager - Commissioning

Overview

Dewberry's Orlando, FL office is looking for a Mechanical or Electrical Engineer-Commissioning Agent to join our commissioning department as a Deputy Department Manager.

• Doer-Seller:
  Find the work and execute it.
• Actively support and coordinate with the entire commissioning team to execute projects and uphold our commitments.
• HVAC sequence of operation knowledge and capability to perform design review of sequence of operation and create mechanical system testing procedures and test them in the field.
• Must have knowledge of manipulating, adjusting, setting up and testing HVAC controls systems such as Johnson Controls, Trane, Automated Logic, Siemens, etc. Knowledge in multiple control systems a plus.
• Must have complete working knowledge of HVAC chilled water and DX systems including design, operation and testing of: chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, AHU, RTU, ERU, VAVs, exhaust, FCU, etc.
• Review air and water balancing processes, review TAB reports and identify issues.
• Visit client facilities and gather necessary data to test systems.
• Create system installation and testing documents.
• Be familiar with OSHA safety requirements and ability to identify deficiencies.
• Be familiar with building codes and ability to make intuitive decisions related to such.
• Read and understand building plans and specifications.
• Work safely around electrical systems up to 600 volts.
• Effectively communicate with all clients, construction trades, and design professionals.
• Have a high aptitude for abstract reasoning, assertiveness, thoroughness and be very detail oriented.
• Work flexible hours and work in hot or cold environments.
• Climb stairs, ladders, and lift trucks; perform moderate lifting. Proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Travel approximately 50% of the time.

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Accomplished engineer with 10+ years of experience.
• Commissioning experience.
• Commissioning process certification preferred or ability to acquire within first 6 months.
• Business development experience is a plus.
• Professional Engineering License a plus or ability to acquire.
• Self-motivated with highly developed verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
