Water Operator - The Villages, FL (Hiring Bonus) at Jacobs

Base pay range: $49,920.00/yr - $52,000.00/yr. Based in The Villages, FL. You’ll perform a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of a water treatment plant and contribute to the success of our program with preventive maintenance, sample procedures, and process control actions.

• Operate and maintain a water treatment plant to ensure safe and reliable service for municipal clients.
• Perform preventive maintenance, establish and maintain effective sample procedures of plant operations and effluent, diagnose operating problems, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare reports, collect samples, conduct laboratory testing, determine proper chemical flow rates, maintain shift logs, and perform other duties as required.
• Collaborate with team to ensure safety, health, and well‑being of the crew and operations.

• Florida Water Treatment Level C or higher certification
• Must be over 21 years of age
• Experience with safety principles and practices
• Experience with computer operations, ability to prepare spreadsheets and word processing documents, and enter information into maintenance management systems
• Possess a valid driver’s license
• Work hours may include a 4 day / 10-hour schedule that will be discussed in more detail later

• Knowledge of operation of engines, pumps, valves, motors, and related equipment; general maintenance work; safe work practices
• Knowledge of biological and chemical analyses related to water treatment; understanding of supervision principles
• Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, data management systems, and ability to operate PLCs and SCADA systems
