Senior Mechanical Engineer PE - (Healthcare Projects) - Hybrid
Base pay range: $/yr – $/yr
We are a leading engineering consulting firm with over 10 offices nationwide and more than 70 years of experience in M.E.P. engineering. We specialize in educational, healthcare, aviation, and other complex projects, providing architectural lighting, mechanical systems design, building commissioning services, technology systems design, life support systems engineering, and fire protection engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Lead mechanical design efforts for mission‑critical healthcare and pharmaceutical projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Develop HVAC designs from concept through construction completion.
- Coordinate HVAC design requirements with architecture, structure, and other disciplines.
- Prepare engineering design calculations, mechanical system layouts, detailed engineering reports, and narratives.
- Maintain direct client contact, fostering relationships, and assist in defining project objectives, goals, and documentation policies.
- Support business development initiatives by assisting the RFP process and interview process.
- Actively engage in community and/or industry‑specific professional organizations.
- PE license preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited college or university.
- 8‑10+ years of experience with an MEP or engineering consulting firm on complex projects.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
- Proven project experience in healthcare projects (hospitals, labs, etc.).
- Experience designing HVAC building systems through conceptual design to construction.
- Knowledge of industry standards and best practices for mechanical systems in healthcare settings.
- Security clearance preferred (not required).
- Experience in sustainable building design.
- LEED AP or LEED GA, or documented participation in a LEED or other green rating system.
- Appreciation and understanding of architectural design and how architects work and think.
