Section Manager - Drainage

Job Description

At BCC Engineering, a Parsons Company, we seek a Drainage Section Manager to lead transportation drainage design. The role serves as Engineer-of-Record (EOR), coordinates multidisciplinary teams through the design and construction phases, manages quality control, mentors junior staff, nurtures client relationships, and drives marketing and business development efforts.

• Serve as Engineer-of-Record for drainage design on transportation projects.
• Lead task and/or project management, coordinating with discipline leaders, consultants, and clients throughout the design and construction cycles.
• Develop work plans, engineering documents, plans, reports, and permit application packages, and track project progress and schedules.
• Perform quality control reviews of design documents and calculations.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers, fostering professional growth and skill development.
• Mentor and coach design team members, offering formal and informal feedback to enhance performance.
• Build and maintain relationships with key clients, agencies, and teaming partners.
• Participate in marketing efforts, prepare marketing materials, conduct research, deliver presentations, and negotiate fee proposals with clients.

• BS in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 15+ years of progressive transportation drainage design experience, including strong background on FDOT projects.
• Demonstrated technical writing and communication skills.
• Proven ability to lead drainage design for complex transportation projects and manage a team of drainage engineers.

• Experience leading technical design for transportation drainage tasks such as stormwater management systems, open and closed section drainage, bridge hydraulics, and associated documentation.
• Willingness to participate in business development activities.
• Ability to build and maintain client relationships.
