We’re looking for a passionate Product Configuration and Product Designer to join the 5F Product Engineering team in Orlando. In this role, your day centers around creating and maintaining standard product structure (SPS) and engine longitudinal for the 5000F product. You’ll act as the 5000F frame approver for engineering drawings and support configuration control through the Global Change Management (GCM) process.
The scope of responsibility extends to coordinating support from all other organizations directed towards development and implementations for the new unit and for Modernizations and Upgrade (M&U) product lines.
- Creation and maintenance of standard product structure (SPS) and engine order structure (EOS) in OneP for 5000F.
- Responsible for configuration control and support Global change management (GCM) process for 5000F.
- Frame Approver for engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and Material Masters (MMs) ensuring consistency with design standards and verification of form, fit, and function of parts and assemblies.
- Responsible for engine longitudinal and assembly for 5000F.
- Develop intricate 2D/3D layouts, detailed drawings for Large Gas Turbine components and assemblies for new units, modernizations & upgrades, and service.
- Support design reviews by preparing documentation and participating in technical reviews.
- Communicate technical, schedule, and cost issues to project teams and management.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university/college. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 8+ years of successful experience in product configuration, product design, and product definition in related fields of gas turbines.
- Experience with creation of standard product structure (SPS), engine order structure (EOS), and configuration control and change management in OneP.
- Experience with creating engine assembly models and longitudinal.
- Experienced user of SAP and Team Center or other similar IT platforms.
- Expert knowledge of engineering drawings, Bill of Materials, and Material Masters.
- Experience with NX, CREO, and AutoCAD desired.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with internal teams (e.g., factory personnel, engineering teams, and management).
