Small Parts Assy / Paint / Special Process Manufacturing Engineer
Join Lockheed Martin and contribute to the creation and continuous improvement of special processes and small parts assembly for ultra‑precision machined components. This role is based in Orlando, FL within the Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) facility.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Industrial Engineers, Quality Engineers and Production stakeholders.
- Create and modify detailed work instructions and shop‑floor documentation to support production.
- Develop fixture and tooling concepts and drawings.
- Provide shop‑floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
- Investigate and perform root‑cause analysis of component non‑conformances and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor and report on quality, schedule, and cost performance of assigned projects/programs.
- Perform other duties as assigned and train others as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of CAD software such as Siemens NX, CREO, Pro Engineer or Solidworks.
- Experience with small parts assembly operations, including precision pin installation, rivet installation, helicoils, etc.
- Experience with Mil‑Spec special processes (heat treatment, chem‑film, anodize, passivation, organic coatings, etc.).
- Experience with paint application and masking processes; knowledge of precision measuring tools, gauges and equipment.
- Experience with automation solutions and chemistry (titrations).
- Experience with 3D printing.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000, AS 9100 and common military specifications; ability to interpret GD&T.
