This is a great opportunity to join a 100% employee‑owned ESOP and one of the largest and most well‑established engineering companies in the United States skilled at electrical design, control system manufacturing, process integration, programming, testing, training, and ongoing support.

This position is responsible for mechanical engineering on large‑scale projects. Project requirements involve mechanical system design from scratch, analysis/calculations (stress/fatigue/etc.), acceleration forces, load calculations, material stress design, failure and effects analysis, risk assessment, component selection, and mechanical system installation/commissioning.

Company size: 201–500.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. (Bachelor’s degrees in other disciplines may be acceptable if work experience is directly related to electrical engineering; disciplines outside of the electrical/controls area will not be considered).

7–10+ years of senior‑level mechanical engineering experience with proven ability to lead design projects from scratch or major modifications (including major redesigns or new system development, 50%+ redesign). Knowledge of GD&T for large‑scale systems or systems with high duty cycle and fatigue requirements. Experience in ASTM standards, attractions industry, and safety engineering is preferred.

Prior field or installation exposure:
Candidates with desk‑based or continuous‑process only work experiences won’t be a good match for this role.

Preferred certifications and credentials:
Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) are a plus (non‑mandatory).

Key competencies:

  • 10+ years mechanical engineering experience with hands‑on design from concept to execution, including major redesigns (50%+).
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Solid Works preferred; Creo or Inventor acceptable) for detailed mechanical system modeling.
  • Expertise in pneumatic and hydraulic system design, troubleshooting, structural and fatigue analysis, and mechanical system installation/commissioning in manufacturing environments.

Required tools/systems mastery:

  • Advanced hands‑on proficiency with 3D mechanical design software, specifically Solid Works (preferred), Creo, or Autodesk Inventor.
  • Experience using software tools for mechanical system analysis including stress, fatigue, reliability, and tolerance calculations.

Work model: 100% onsite at client/project locations. Must live within reasonable commuting distance or be willing to relocate to Orlando with limited relocation assistance available.

Travel:
Ability to travel up to 30% worst case (10% typical).

Physical demands of the position include seeing, color perception, hearing, listening, clear speech, dexterity in hands, driving, lifting, climbing, ability to mount and dismount equipment, pushing, and pulling.

Working conditions:

Expected on client location 5 days a week; includes standard office environment, onsite office environment, and diverse industrial/construction environments. Frequent PC usage, copy machines, phones.
