We are seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will specialize in Modeling and Simulation of complex technical solutions. This person will join a highly skilled team of systems engineering technologists and algorithm developers supporting various contracts and IRADs within Missiles and Fire Control.
Responsibilities- Design and documentation of model and simulation requirements and architecture
- Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations
- Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements
- Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities
- Support ground and flight test efforts including Hardware‑In‑The‑Loop (HWIL) activities
- Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers

Basic Qualifications- Master’s degree in aerospace engineering, computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, applied mathematics, or similar
- Candidate must be proficient in C++
- Proficient in either MATLAB or Python
- Must have demonstrated the ability to perform one or more of the following Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) or Modeling and Simulation (M&S) assignments based on completed coursework or professional experience:
- Develop and analyze algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms
- Develop and/or verify/validate complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6‑degree‑of‑freedom simulations
- Demonstrate strong math skills in linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations
- This position is located at a facility that requires special access.
- Candidate already possesses final DoD Secret clearance
- Proficiency with Python and Linux
- Experience with Agile development
- Experience with Dev Ops/Dev Sec Ops CI/CD pipelines and software version control such as Git
- Strong written, verbal communication and organizational and interpersonal skills
The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $82,900 - $146,165. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. The salary information is a general guideline only.
