Job Description & How to Apply Below

Description

We’re seeking a hands‑on Software Engineer with deep experience in the Modeling, Simulation, and Training (MS&T) industry to build and integrate high‑fidelity training solutions for Defense customers—especially Army and Navy programs. You’ll develop C++ software that interoperates across distributed simulation environments and connects to simulators used for operator training, mission rehearsal, and systems test.

Impact
  • Deliver dependable, high‑fidelity training capabilities that improve warfighter readiness
  • Advance interoperability across Live/Virtual/Constructive (LVC) training systems
  • Reduce integration risk by adhering to standards (HLA/DIS) and VV&A practices
What You’ll Do
  • Design & implement production‑grade C++ subsystems for real time simulation, training devices, and constructive forces.
  • Integrate distributed simulations using HLA (High Level Architecture) and DIS (Distributed Interactive Simulation), including federation object model (FOM) work, RTI integration, and entity/state synchronization.
  • Develop and maintain simulators (desktop and full mission) for Defense programs; collaborate with Army/Navy stakeholders, integrators, and test teams.
  • Model behaviors and systems (platforms, sensors, weapons, comms) and validate against authoritative data and requirements.
  • Profile & optimize for determinism and low‑latency networking; troubleshoot timing/jitter and packet‑level issues.
  • Automate build/test (CI/CD) and contribute to configuration management, requirements traceability, and accreditation artifacts.
  • Author engineering documentation (designs, ICDs, test plans, user guides) aligned to defense program standards.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Must have 4+ years of relevant experience in the Modeling and Simulation Industry
  • Strong C++ development from scratch
  • ONESAF (One Semi Automated Forces) integration, scenario development, or model customization experience (huge plus).
  • Familiarity with Army training programs (e.g., CCTT/FSTSS) and Navy surface/undersea training ecosystems.
  • Experience with RTI-specific tooling, RPR FOM, and interoperability testing across mixed HLA/DIS environments.
  • Experience in VV&A, requirements traceability, and defense program documentation.
  • Experience with physics modeling, sensor phenomenology, terrain/IG integration (e.g., OGC CDB, Open Flight), or game engines (Unity/Unreal) for trainer UIs.
  • Dev Ops/Automation: CMake, Conan/vcpkg, Git, Jenkins/Git Lab CI; containerization (Docker) for build/test.
  • Real time OS tuning (thread priorities, CPU affinity) and performance profiling on Windows/Linux.
  • Active DoD Secret clearance.
