You will be the Mechanical Engineering Designer Sr for a Laser Weapon System. Our team is responsible for developing and implementing detailed designs and layouts of laser weapon system sensors, structures, and subassemblies, driving innovation and excellence in the field.

As the Mechanical Engineering Designer, you will support the Integrated Product Team in creating detailed designs, layouts, and drawings for various components and subassemblies. You will play a key role in developing and generating CREO layouts, detailed drawings, and design documentation, ensuring seamless collaboration with cross‑functional teams.

• Developing and generating CREO layouts and detailed drawings for ICDs, components, sub‑assemblies, assemblies, and integration test articles
• Building BOMs, creating parts, assemblies, and design documentation within Windchill PLM
• Coordinating with the IPT team, suppliers, GSC, electronic packaging, optics, and structural/thermal/material analysts to ensure design excellence
• Managing drawing releases, answering CRs, generating CNs, and presenting/supporting change boards and design reviews
• Performing design trade studies to evaluate cost, weight, performance, and structural/thermal benefits

We're looking for a collaborative and experienced Mechanical Engineering Designer to join our team. As an ideal candidate, you'll have a strong background in hardware design, requirements of beam controller hardware, and experience with Windchill PLM. Familiarity with prototyping and hardware manufacturing, rapid design, and outside vendors for hardware fabrication build is a plus. MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN – This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university, preferably in an Engineering related field
• Sound engineering/technical foundation and ability to grasp complex issues quickly
• Skilled at creating and releasing part and assembly models and detailed drawings using Creo (Pro Engineer) and Windchill
• Experience creating drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.100 standards
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing in accordance with ASME Y14.5
• Capable of performing complex, precision optical tolerance analyses of housings, lenses, and beam‑forming elements
• Capable of performing in a fast paced, dynamic, inclusive, team environment
• Limited travel as necessary
• Active DoD Secret Clearance or ability to obtain one
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Excel, Word, Power Point
• Detail and process oriented

• Familiarity with optics, sensor, and/or directed energy
• Familiarity with integrated optical systems

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. Citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: Secret.
