Entry-level/Early-career Electrical Engineering role focused on managing small electric distribution projects under senior engineer supervision.

- Working knowledge of OUC Construction Standards Manuals (Overhead and Underground), OUC Electric Service and Digital Meter Installation Manual, NEC/NESC books, OUC Engineering Manual, Letter of Responsibility unique specification package, local permits, meter installation process, construction crew scheduling, and limitations of construction crew equipment and manpower.
- Familiarity with Civil, AutoCAD, technical drawings, riser diagrams, GIS maps, invoices, estimate reports, equipment such as an iPhone, measuring wheel, company radio, hammer, wood stakes, spray paint, software applications such as PSERM, CC&B, AutoCAD, ePets, Arc-Reader, ARM
360, industry policies, practices, and legal guidelines. - Additional competencies: calculate amperage on both sides of the meter for wiring/transformer sizing, voltage drop, fault current; apply governmental accounting practices; perform arithmetic computations with whole numbers, fractions, decimals; compute rates, ratios, percentages; use Microsoft Office Suite and standard office equipment.

- Analyze future projects from a distribution electrical engineering perspective by preparing designs, plans, specifications, cost estimates, and construction documents.
- Oversee projects and manage capital projects from start to finish, providing electric service to new and existing customers.
- Prepare designs, plans/specifications, and documents for Electric Distribution projects.
- Complete cost estimates for Electric Distribution projects.
- Manage Electrical Distribution projects from development stage through completion.
- Analyze electrical plans for new project developments (commercial and residential).
- Review completed projects by comparing actual costs with estimated costs and verify accuracy of new infrastructure within OUC GIS mapping system.
- Resolve conflicts with multiple parties including OUC customers, contractors, governmental agencies, and internal employees.
- Inspect distribution infrastructure installed by private contractors and OUC contractors.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- No experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university.
This role will help supplement the workload as OUC incorporates Grid Hardening projects during this fiscal year. OUC Distribution Electric customers are growing exponentially, especially in the STC area.
