VDC Lead – Advanced Manufacturing
Jacobs is seeking an experienced Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) Lead to manage and optimize digital delivery processes for the Advanced Manufacturing sector. This U.S. based role offers flexible home‑office options. The position will lead VDC/BIM delivery, coordinate model creation, clash detection, scanning, and training for field personnel, and support business development and stakeholder collaboration.
Base Pay Range$ – $ per year.
Responsibilities- Lead VDC/BIM delivery and management, aligning technologies with client and internal goals.
- Develop and implement Design & Construction BIM Execution Plans for EPCM projects.
- Coordinate VDC tasks including 3D logistics, safety planning, 4D scheduling, and 5D cost & quantity take‑offs.
- Administer the Common Data Environment (Autodesk Construction Cloud) throughout design to construction.
- Manage clash detection, lead resolution meetings, and serve as a BIM subject‑matter expert.
- Integrate laser scan data, facilitate Scan‑to‑BIM, and oversee model redline and as‑built processes.
- Lead mobile device training and capture reality reporting (360 photo, laser scan, drone data).
- Support business development by consulting on proposals, estimates, and client collaboration.
- Recruit, manage, and mentor VDC staff; develop training materials and technical guidance.
- Provide on‑site leadership, coordinate VDC activities with field operations, and own on‑site processes.
- At least 7 years of VDC/BIM experience within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in BIM software (Revit, Navisworks, Revizto) and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
- Strong understanding of BIM technologies applied to manufacturing design & construction.
- Experience with laser scanning, point‑cloud data, and Scan‑to‑BIM integration.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
- Track record of onsite VDC leadership in fast‑paced environments.
- Ability to work collaboratively on site and virtually.
- Experience developing and implementing BIM execution plans.
- Knowledge of construction processes and MEP systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred).
