Associate Civil Specialist

Responsibilities- Lead civil design of projects from the conceptual phase through design completion under the project needs and requirements established by the project managers, with oversight from a licensed professional engineer.
- Utilize expert knowledge of standard civil concepts, practices, codes and procedures within the civil/transmission lines engineering services industry.
- Apply knowledge, experience to complex projects, and develop non‑standard design solutions.
- Conduct comprehensive quality reviews of production drawings and project‑related data, including but not limited to transmission lines, as required by project managers and company quality standards.
- Verify that corrections are implemented across various CAD software platforms and provide engineering support for construction.
- Cultivate strong relationships with existing clients, customers, and contractors, while proactively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Confirm that customer satisfaction goals and expectations are met.
- Review and approve information for client presentations, shop drawings, and contract administration documents for the design of transmission lines.
- Review field inspections, measurements, and calculations for both public and private sector clients.
- Take a leadership role in sales and marketing, identifying, and managing key pursuits, and establishing cost proposals and qualification statements to achieve stated targets and standards for financial accomplishment.
- Responsible for reporting project performance, presenting project budgets and cost estimates.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to civil/transmission lines engineering practice, mentor, and guide less experienced staff.
- Provide feedback to managers regarding staff performance and participate in the recruitment and development of staff.
- Responsible for QA/QC process adherence and drive continuous process improvement.
- Responsible for compliance with company and site safety policies.
- Telecommuting is allowed for up to 30 days per year. Primarily domestic travel up to 25% is required based on project needs.
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus thirteen (13) years of civil engineering experience.
- Alternatively, the employer will also accept a Master’s, or foreign equivalent, in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a directly related field from an accredited program plus twelve (12) years of civil engineering experience.
- Standard engineering techniques and procedures.
- PLS‑Suite.
- Performing quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
