Electrical Designer; On-Site

Description

Individuals assigned to this role will perform engineering calculations and must be able to layout and design systems in accordance with established policies, standards, procedures and applicable codes.

• A Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• An associate degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in the design of electrical systems under the supervision of a Professional Engineer is required.
• Practical experience in electrical fields is preferred but not required.

• Prepares system layout and detailed drawings and schematics to produce a complete set of construction drawings in accordance with applicable codes.
• Performs basic calculations and design engineering systems.
• Provides technical information and assistance to project engineer or team leader.
• Makes recommendations as to the feasibility of certain systems or equipment and evaluates products for their applications.
• Coordinates design systems with other disciplines or consultants.
• May assist with site surveys.

• Proficient in Revit.
• Researching and writing reports/opinions.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Active listening and note taking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.

Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time, handle stressful situations, multitask, work under time constraints, and may be required to work overtime (40+ hours) as needed.

Must be able to handle stressful situations, multitask, and work within reasonable time constraints to meet production schedules and budgets. Work in a normal office environment and may also be required to work outside of a normal office from time to time.
