Head of South East - Automation & ControlCognify Global is seeking a control engineer to support a client project focused on the development of PLC-based monitoring and control software. This position includes responsibilities such as factory and field testing, customer training, and collaboration with project managers to ensure the successful deployment of automation systems.
Responsibilities- Interpret project requirements through meetings and review of technical documentation.
- Keep project managers informed of task progress, project milestones, and budget considerations.
- Prepare accurate project documentation, including timesheets and trip reports.
- Follow established engineering standards and best practices.
- Create System Control Narratives and use them as the basis for PLC program development.
- Develop PLC applications using specifications and system narratives.
- Install and validate both developed software and any required third-party or vendor software.
- Integrate automation systems with third-party equipment via industrial communication protocols.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
- Demonstrate full system functionality to stakeholders, including SCADA operation and system controls.
- Provide end-user training for operators, supervisors, and administrative staff.
- Compile and submit final project documentation.
- Offer technical support to end users and assist field technicians with PLC-related troubleshooting.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in PLC programming
- Familiarity with PLC, hardware and software platforms such as Allen-Bradley, Schneider, Siemens, or Emerson
