Faculty Program Director, Radiologic/Imaging Sc

This 12-month faculty position provides academic leadership and operational oversight for the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences program. The role includes teaching, curriculum development, program administration, and accreditation compliance, with alignment to institutional policies, workforce needs, and industry standards. The position supports students through their academic and clinical education and collaborates with college leadership to advance the program within Valencia College.

Overview

Valencia College invites applications for the Faculty Program Director, Radiologic and Imaging Sciences. The role involves academic leadership, program administration, curriculum development, and accreditation activities to prepare graduates for careers in medical imaging and diagnostic healthcare.

Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned courses (HSA, HSC, RTE) and develop course materials; course assignments based on expertise include HSA3

    XXX; knowledge and experience in multi-modalities (CT, MRI, Mammography).
  • Fulfill full-time instructional duties: teaching, course preparation, and institutional service; maintain a minimum workload of 9 contact hours in fall and spring and 6 in summer.
  • Oversee all aspects of the Radiologic and Imaging Sciences program, including administration, organization, supervision, curriculum planning, and continuous quality improvement (assessment of student learning outcomes and program review).
  • Provide academic oversight and manage faculty, preceptors, and support staff across academic and clinical phases.
  • Advise and mentor students; support retention and progression; coordinate senior activities and certification exam registration as applicable.
  • Coordinate with accreditation bodies, prepare reports, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with advisory boards, clinical sites, and industry partners; facilitate internships and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Monitor program budgets and resources; participate in budget planning and ensure adequate support for operations and improvements.
  • Collaborate with College leadership and other programs to support cross-program development and interdisciplinary initiatives.
  • Represent the program to internal and external stakeholders and contribute to recruitment and outreach efforts.
Qualifications
  • Must hold a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution with a major in radiography or a health-related field, and current CRT licensure and ARRT registration; OR
  • 18 graduate semester hours in radiography or health-related field, a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, and current CRT licensure and ARRT registration.
  • Active licensure/certification as required by regulatory bodies; minimum five years of relevant experience; demonstrated instructional methodology experience (curriculum development, teaching, and program management).
  • Ability to teach in mixed modalities (face-to-face and online); willingness to establish Florida residency within 30 days of start date if selected.
  • Note:

    Mixed-Mode denotes a hybrid modality with both in-person and asynchronous online instruction weekly.
Instructional Workload
  • Fall: 9 contact hours
  • Spring: 9 contact hours
  • Summer: 6 contact hours
  • Additional required contact hours each term may be reassigned to fulfill responsibilities
  • The Program Director’s role is subject to annual renewal; duties and time commitments vary by discipline, program size, accreditation needs, and institutional resources
Salary and Benefits

The salary ranges are based on degree level and experience. The position includes a $5,000 annual Valencia College Pay Additive, paid biweekly in addition to base salary.

Salary ranges per degree level are outlined as follows:
Masters: $73,288 - $90,621;
Masters+30: $78,537 - $95,870;
Doctorate: $83,786 - $101,119 per year. This pay additive is part of Valencia College’s commitment to attracting and supporting exceptional clinical and academic talent.
