About Our Nursing ProgramThe Valencia College Nursing Program offers a two-year Associate in Science (ASN) degree program and a four-year Nursing Bachelor’s of Science (BSN). With approximately 600 students, both degrees offer opportunities for specialization. Nationally accredited and highly regarded, these programs combine rigorous classroom instruction with hands‑on clinical experiences, equipping future nurses with the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
Faculty Responsibilities- Teach Med Surg courses with a focus on NUR prefixes. Full‑time instructional faculty are required to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, which includes the following responsibilities:
- Teaching
- Course Preparation
- Student Engagement
- Professional Development
- Institutional Service
- Fall: 12 contact hours
- Spring: 12 contact hours
- Summer: 12 contact hours
A contact hour refers to one hour of direct instructional time with students per week. For example, a course that meets three hours per week counts as 3 contact hours.
Position Requirements- Master’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution with a major in Nursing by the official start date (August 2026). Maintain expertise in the area of responsibility.
- Current, active, and unencumbered licensure in the State as a registered nurse or nurse practitioner, or eligibility to obtain by the start date of August 18, 2026.
- This position requires face‑to‑face teaching modalities.
Salary ranges for each degree level are outlined below. Placement within these ranges is determined by years of relevant work experience and the highest degree earned.
- MA: $73,288 – $90,621 per year
- M+30: $78,537 – $95,870 per year
- DR: $83,786 – $101,119 per year

- Full‑time instructional faculty are eligible for a continuing contract and will undergo the five‑year process. Successful completion allows transition to a Professor position.
