South College seeks adjunct faculty for the Respiratory Therapy Program. Adjunct instructors are contract employees, based on quarterly program needs, by the sponsoring institution, South College. Adjunct instructors assume responsibility for scheduled didactic and laboratory courses in the Respiratory Therapy Program.
Responsibilities- Demonstrate professionalism and provide quality customer service in accordance with South College’s values
- Coordinating and evaluating students during laboratory courses
- Assist the Program Director with fiscal planning and recommending the purchase of supplies and equipment
- Attending advisory committee meetings
- Teaching program courses as needed according to specified learning outcomes
- Academic advising and career related counseling for students
- Exhibit flexibility, willingness to learn, and ability to change
- Monitoring student retention and identifying and assisting students at‑risk
- Maintaining professional development in current healthcare trends, research, issues and practices (2 per year)
- Maintaining faculty development in current teaching strategies and assessment methods (2 per year)
- Providing support for programmatic and institutional initiatives
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
- Must provide and possess effective leadership and proficiency in instructional methodologies, ongoing evaluation and assessment, instruction, education, and counseling for respiratory therapy.
- Must possess the equivalent of four (4) years’ experience as a RRT with at least two (2) years in clinical respiratory therapy.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years’ experience teaching either as an appointed faculty member in a CoARC accredited respiratory care program or as a clinical instructor/preceptor for students of such programs.
- Must possess a current and in good standing state license.
