Associate Director of Primary Grades - Lower School

Job Summary

LHP’s Lower School (LS) seeks an Associate Director (AD) of Primary Grades to work closely with the Director of LS to provide comprehensive support to the LS community. Focused on Grades PK-2, the AD supports the academic and social-emotional development of students. This leader helps cultivate a positive, nurturing, joyful, and engaging learning environment that reflects the school’s mission and values.

The position is full-time, fully benefitted, 12-month, exempt. Underrepresented groups are encouraged to apply.

• Support teachers in implementing instructional and behavioral management best practices.
• Monitor student progress in Grades PK‑2.
• Partner with teachers throughout their evaluation process.
• Collaborate on key programs and initiatives.
• Foster strong partnerships with families.
• Serve as a visible and supportive presence in classrooms and throughout the division, promoting a culture of growth, curiosity, and engagement.

• Minimum of a Master’s Degree or international equivalent; at least one advanced degree in early childhood education, elementary education, educational leadership, or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience, preferably in a lower school setting.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an administrative leadership role.
• Independent school experience preferred.
