This position can be based in Tampa, Orlando or Fort Myers with up to 50% travel across the area.
SCOPE OF WORK
The Craft Instructor assesses learning needs, designs and develops curriculum content and plans, and delivers curriculum through the most effective methodologies. All efforts are directed to delivering the best education through research and implementation of effective teaching methods that build and enhance employee skills and competence. The Craft Instructor partners with apprenticeship instructors and staff assigned to assure delivery of craft content meets learner and organizational needs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual Spanish required.

Strong administrative, organization, and communication skills

Strong communication and presentation delivery skills
Must be computer literate and able to process documents in Microsoft Suite in addition to quickly learning Gaylor's operating software

RESPONSIBILITIES

Leads assessment of craft education and employee development needs for operations
Facilitates the craft assessment and uses this information to design individual training needs
Facilitates continual educational development activities that supports Gaylor career pathways
Works collaboratively with operational leadership to plan and facilitate craft education delivery and the craft assessment program
Designs, develops, and delivers skills driven curriculum that meets participant needs and Gaylor's objectives
Plans and coordinates content delivery, administration, and logistics
Evaluates effectiveness of craft education and apprenticeship programming
Continuously reviews existing educational practices and programs, especially as it relates to engagement and curriculum effectiveness
Coaches skilled craft employees who function as trainers on effective implementation of developed curriculum
Research internal and external best practices and assists with recommendations for continuous improvements in education-related programs

Identifies areas for improvement and provides recommendations

WORKING CONDITIONS

May require working in all elements (heat, cold, rain, snow, etc.) depending on job location and/or time of year
Must be able to utilize construction site sanitary facilities (port-o-lets)
Must have required hand tools at all times while at work site (waist tool belts can weigh up to 30 lbs.)
Must be able to work scheduled hours as well as overtime, as required, on short notice
Must be able to work in noisy environments
Must be able to remain calm in times of heightened emotional situations
Must work well with others as a member of a team to complete tasks

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to wear personnel protective equipment (i.e., hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, high visibility vest, safety harness, etc.) when required
Ability to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead
Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers
Possess good vision/hearing (normal or corrected)
Ability to make transition from designated employee parking areas to construction areas and be able to gain access to all levels of building/structure, even if only means of access is by O.S.H.A. approved site construction ladder or stairs still under construction but deemed safe for use
Ability to work while constantly moving on one's feet
Ability to reach and stretch to position equipment and fixtures while maintaining balance
Ability to work while sitting or standing for long periods
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times

EDUCATION

High school diploma or equivalency
Apprenticeship completion or relevant craft electrician certification

EXPERIENCE

Previous experience with training and/or education in the construction industry
High level of electrical construction skills and experience
