The Opportunity
Department of Mechanical and Aerospace (MAE) at University of Central Florida invites applicants for multiple 9‑month, full‑time, non‑tenure earning lecturer or associate lecturer positions with an anticipated start date of August 08 2026. Selected candidates will primarily be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses and some graduate courses in mechanical or aerospace engineering offered by the department.
The MAE Department offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degree programs. Both BSAE and BSME programs are ABET‑accredited. The department is continually growing with numerous faculty achievements including NSF CAREER awards, an ONR Young Investigator Award, and fellowships in professional societies. Minimum Qualifications- An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a closely related field at the time of application.
- For associate lecturer must also have at least five years of full‑time teaching experience in a higher education institution.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Previous teaching experience at the university level in the United States.
- Commitment to teaching excellence and passion for engineering education research.
- Demonstrated teaching effectiveness in mechanical and aerospace engineering courses.
