Application InstructionsThe following documents must be filled out completely and returned to the school office prior to working in the school system. Only fill out the application form that applies to your position (instructional or non-instructional). Substitutes should fill out the non-instructional form. Applications are accepted 4/10/25 - 4/17/25 by close of business.

Federal law maintains that states are responsible for maintaining qualifications to ensure personnel are appropriately prepared and trained to serve children with disabilities (IDEA Act, 20 U.S.C. § 1412). The IDEA and ESSA outline expectations for proper training and supervision of staff serving in educational roles. The paraprofessional qualifications include meeting one of the following requirements: a secondary school diploma or recognized equivalent;
or two years of college study; or an associate’s degree or higher; or demonstrating knowledge of and ability to assist in instruction of reading, writing, and mathematics through a rigorous state or local assessment. Florida uses the ETS Para Pro Assessment to meet this qualification, with a passing score of 464.
