Position: AHMG CVICU ECMO Opportunity at Orlando

Overview

Advent Health Medical Group Critical Care at Central Florida is looking for a dynamic physician to be part of the expanding critical care team. This position focuses on a multi-disciplinary team in the Cardiovascular ICU at the Advent Health Orlando campus.

Responsibilities
  • Cover the Cardiovascular ICU unit, including the post-operative CV surgical ICU and ECMO/Transplant ICU.
  • Nocturnist opportunity.
  • Collaborate with experienced intensivists, surgeons, cardiology and pulmonary transplant medical/care teams to grow and sustain a high-quality Cardiovascular, Heart & Lung Transplant Critical Care program.
  • Participate in a program that performs 35-50 hearts, 15-20 lungs, and 30-50 VADs per year with multi-organ transplant capability.
  • Involves work within the general CV surgical program with >4,500 heart surgeries per year.
  • Recognized as a Platinum ECMO Center and among the busiest centers in the United States.
  • Only ECPR program in Central Florida, run by critical care, including cannulations and management.
  • Patient mix includes heart and lung transplants, mechanical assist devices, VV/VA ECMO, and general cardiovascular surgical procedures.
  • Robust GME and ACGME programs in Orlando with Medical Students, Residents and Critical Care Fellows and Pulmonary Critical Care Fellows on site.
  • Full-time schedule: 14 shifts per month.
Qualifications
  • Requirements For Position
  • Critical Care fellowship training. Surgical, Medical, Anesthesia, and Emergency Medicine background are welcomed to apply.
  • At least 2 years of experience with ECMO;
    Heart & Lung Transplant experience preferred.
  • Experience in ECMO cannulation, VV and VA preferred.
  • Point of care ultrasound experience required (spot evaluation and as procedural guidance).
  • Ability to provide ECPR response for the ED as well as inpatient population.
  • ELSO certification desirable.
  • Physicians must be board certified/eligible in the subspecialty of Critical Care Medicine.
