Your Opportunity
You will work on tasks with close guidance and direction from a team of licensed Architects. In this entry-level Architectural Intern position, you will contribute to innovative and creative design solutions, leveraging sustainable products and green architecture sensibility as part of a multi-disciplinary team committed to the healthy future of the communities, we live in.
Your
Key Responsibilities
- Team member on a variety of projects in corporate and academic science and technology, industrial, corporate office, and municipal markets.
- Leverage creativity, critical thought, and design excellence to solve problems, add value, and elevate the human environment.
- Conceptualize place making and building design from functional and aesthetic perspectives within a client's requirements, budget, and program.
- Develops designs through sketches, physical models, electronic models, diagrams, massing studies, and other visual formats to express the design intent and communicate to the project team, client, and building user groups.
- Utilizes BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of buildings and their components.
- Work within a multi-disciplinary team of architects, engineers, and designers to develop conceptually relevant and functionally exceptional solutions for our clients and our communities.
- Evaluate and coordinate building systems and materials to ensure compatibility with the design intent.
- Participates in the development of the program and other pre-design efforts.
- Develop coordinated construction documents as part of a multi-discipline team.
- Stay with projects from planning, through design, bidding, and construction phase services.
- Work with a team committed to your development that will support you on your path to licensure, growth, and leadership.
- Perform site surveys to document building conditions. Review shop drawings and submittals for building systems.
- Participation in professional and community organizations encouraged and supported.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Strong understanding of Revit and Auto Cad. Experience utilizing BIM and CAD professionally.
- Strong presentation and rendering skills desired.
- Able to coordinate construction document production with all team members across disciplines.
- Well-rounded understanding of all components of a building including Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Systems as well as materials and constructability.
- Be a good listener, a good communicator and develop strong working relationships with clients and staff
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments
- Able to interpret sketches, drawings, codes, building programs and other similar materials.
- Able to apply accessibility codes, applicable building codes, and life-safety codes to a wide variety of project scopes and complexity.
- Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, and AutoCAD;
Prefer experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch
UP, and Lumion.
- Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Education and Experience
In pursuit of or achieved a bachelor's degree in architecture or related field. 0-3 years of experience. Internships and post-graduation work experience preferred. Application and development of planning, programming, site documentation and evaluation, presentation, rendering, public engagement, concept development, detail development, construction documentation, and construction phase support desired.

** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
