JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring that all visual integrity elements within Merchandise are maintained according to Visual Show Quality Standards. Serve as lead on design and execution of projects for the Visual Merchandise team as it relates to the presentation and support of product within the Merchandise divisions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee the design and participate in hands‑on fabrication and installation of props, set pieces, backdrops, and other visual elements for seasonal window sets, pop‑up shops, and other specialty activations. Must be familiar with and possess a basic skill set for handheld and shop‑based power tools and equipment, as well as varied paint applications, finishes, and techniques.
  • Design, source, and project manage visual merchandising‑related projects, including fixture design and development, graphics, signage, mannequins, and collateral to support in‑store Merchandise assortments.
  • Coordinate event, seasonal, and symphony collateral planning, design, coordination, procurement, hands‑on fabrication, installation, scheduling, and execution. Be able to design and assemble the necessary scope for pop‑up shops and periodic theatrical‑based sets and presentations.
  • Manage the visual merch components of new store openings and renovations and smaller in‑store initiatives, including budgets, sourcing, procurement, fabrication of props/fixtures and collateral, installs, and other execution.
  • Parkwide Merchandise Holiday Trim and seasonal signage design, procurement, hands‑on fabrication, installation, and execution. Pull together presentations for merchandise displays and assemble meaningful product presentations using existing and handmade props and displays.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE
  • 2+ years basic design and fabrication skills, and power tools, and paint experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
  • Skill in using Adobe Photoshop and Sketch Up.
  • Time‑management skills – ability to organize and follow a budget and schedule.
  • Organization skills – able to multi‑task and demonstrate flexibility required.
  • Ability to assemble and supervise a group of assistants to execute projects that require teamwork and collaboration.
