Job SummaryThe Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all field-related activities, including jobsite safety, cost control, quality assurance, and schedule management across one or more projects, depending on the scope and scale of the work. This role works closely with the management team to ensure project success and maintains regular communication with the Senior Superintendent and/or Project Director. The Superintendent also fosters strong relationships with clients, architects, consultants, and subcontractors.

- Must have a valid driver’s license.
- 5 years’ experience as a commercial construction Superintendent.
- Experience with AHCA and healthcare commercial construction is required.
- Experience with ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) is preferred.
- Must be self‑motivated and have the ability to work independently.
- Must rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Must have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Must be able to meet high‑quality standards while meeting aggressive schedules/deadlines.
- Must display strong leadership skills and personal accountability.
- Language ability – read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Math ability – calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning ability – solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer skills – basic computer skills needed.
- Understand and enforce contractual documents, including contracts, schedules, and pay applications.
- Coordinate and lead the project team, assisting with business development and preconstruction efforts.
- Proactively anticipate potential issues and take corrective action to prevent project complications.
- Continuously develop leadership, mentoring, and coaching skills.
- Create, implement, and monitor the site logistics and management plan to ensure efficient operations and OSHA compliance.
- Plan and coordinate daily and weekly work activities, including sequencing and interaction of trades, and lead weekly progress meetings and daily trade huddles, maintaining accurate records.
- Monitor and maintain the construction schedule, including look‑ahead schedules, and adjust as necessary.
- Hold primary responsibility for jobsite safety, site separation, and enforcement of the quality control plan.
- Maintain complete and organized site records, including daily progress and delay logs, tool inventory, and punch lists, ensuring timely creation, distribution, and completion.
- Manage subcontractor performance, enforcing compliance and taking corrective actions when necessary.
- Coordinate material procurement and delivery with subcontractors according to the schedule.
- Assist management in developing bid scopes, reviewing shop drawings and submittals, monitoring approval timelines, and identifying long‑lead items.
- Support project staff with RFIs, and ensure proper coding of timesheets, material invoices, and Comdata charges; regularly review job costs with management.
- Understand and utilize company policies, procedures, best practices, and the Master Forms Library.
- Participate in ongoing training efforts to improve knowledge and skills.
- Ensure workplace safety, promptly reporting any issues to the project team.
- Deliver exceptional client service, exceeding expectations throughout project delivery.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success.
