Overview

Position: Senior Estimator
Company: Work Skill Staffing (on behalf of our client).

Job Summary: As a Senior Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing bid specifications and drawings across projects in the hospitality, commercial, K-12, healthcare, and themed entertainment sectors. You’ll ensure all scope details are accounted for to prepare accurate and competitive bids. This role requires proactive communication with subcontractors and vendors to secure timely and comprehensive pricing. You will also collaborate closely with Project Management teams to refine budgets, track bid status, and help secure new business opportunities within these dynamic industries.

Job Responsibilities
  • Prepare complete, accurate estimates and bid packages for projects in hospitality, commercial, K-12, healthcare, and themed sectors.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and project teams to resolve technical questions during preconstruction.
  • Maintain communication with subcontractors and vendors; ensure proper coverage and competitive pricing.
  • Perform take-offs, material/labor estimates, and submit all bids on time without exception.
  • Track and report estimate progress to management and support the team through budgeting and proposal phases.
Job Skills & Qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in ground-up construction and interior build-outs across hospitality, commercial, K-12, healthcare, or themed environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
Additional Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient in estimating and spreadsheet software.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled in reading architectural plans and creating cost estimates.
  • Solid knowledge of construction materials, methods, and codes.
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, and deadline-driven.
  • Experienced in contract terms and negotiation.
  • Effective time management with proactive issue resolution.
