Job Summary

The Director, Procurement – Operating Supplies & Equipment Sourcing is responsible for overseeing the comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategy in the specific area of Operating Supplies & Equipment Sourcing, driving key stakeholder alignment and supporting successful execution of sourcing and procurement strategies.

Expected Contributions
  • Responsible for overseeing the comprehensive sourcing and procurement strategy supporting assigned functional areas within the organization for Resort Operations.
  • Manage Strategic Sourcing Processes for Operational Supplies and Equipment
  • Research and negotiate vendor agreements and contracts.
  • Lead a team focusing on the following categories related to Resort Operations, including MRO Supplies, Food & Beverage Supplies, and Villa Supplies.
  • Review category workplans, charters, roles / responsibilities, and facilitates functional area alignment to drive progress within the category.
  • Investigate, develop, and vet approved item lists for all Brands, taking into consideration Brand, operational, and financial requirements across supply category items (e.g., engineering supplies, villa supplies, front office supplies, F&B products, etc.).
  • Design sourcing strategies that drive consensus across Brands and leverage enterprise scale to maximize sourcing value for MVW, where feasible.
  • Analyze category supply markets to keep current on supplier and industry trends.
  • Review internal requirements in context of the external supply market and refine category management strategies and tactics as needed.
  • Work cross-functionally with other departments and executives within the company to execute short and long-term objectives.
  • Establish comprehensive framework for Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for managed category, capturing cost components such as unit price, tax, delivery, warranty & maintenance, scrap and replacement, internal process-related costs, etc.
  • Manage development, distribution, and facilitation of supplier qualification and RFx events.
  • Lead major supplier negotiations, including negotiable issues across commercial and business terms; analyze proposals across multiple considerations (e.g., service levels, quality, pricing, supplier innovations, risks, etc.).
  • Drive compliance to approved item lists through leveraging procurement technologies (e.g., Tableau, Birch Street, CLM, etc.) and developing corrective action plans for non-conforming spend.
  • Evaluate potential award scenarios, develop recommendations, and socialize recommendations with business stakeholders. Finalize implementation plans on results of award decisions.
Candidate Profile
  • BS/BA in Supply Chain, Economics, Finance or Business Administration; CSCP or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of combined sourcing/procurement/supply chain experience and/or functional experience in the assigned category.
  • Demonstrates expertise in strategic sourcing for Operating Supplies & Equipment Sourcing category at a global scale and within a fast paced, and dynamic organization.
  • Successful track record in developing collaborative, highly effective, strategic, and tactical relationships with diverse business groups across all levels.
  • Experience utilizing relevant procurement technologies (e.g., Tableau and Birch Street, etc.).
  • A background in designing Procurement and supplier reporting to effectively manage strategic business function performance insights.
  • Manages supplier performance processes (e.g., Quarterly Business Views, Corrective Action Plans, etc.) and key performance metrics (e.g., On-Time-In-Full (OTIF), pricing compliance, % defect and other quality metrics, etc.).
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills.
