Automotive Used Car Reconditioning Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. They will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to him/her.

Job Expectations:

• Full repairs of any vehicle components.
• Emission diagnostic and repair capabilities, including using shop supplied diagnostic equipment and the information supplied to repair the vehicle properly and efficiently.
• Power train diagnostics repair and rebuild (engine, transmissions, and rear ends).
• Understanding of vehicle suspension and brake systems including ABS systems, and any related electrical systems involved. Diagnose and effectively repair the vehicle using diagnostic equipment and related material.
• Full knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and their operations, including air bag systems.
• Electrical systems diagnostics and full repairs from the simplest of installing a battery or alternator to the more demanding of diagnosing and repairing wiring harnesses.
• Full knowledge of A/C systems and their operation, including the ability to diagnose and repair A/C systems and use A/C recovery and recharge equipment.
• Full understanding of special tools and their use, ability to read, follow and understand a wiring diagram, and capability to use any shop related equipment from a laptop computer to an A/C machine, brake lathe, alignment machine.
• Must work efficiently, repair a vehicle within the proper time allotted, and repair properly.

Minimum Qualifications:

• ASE Certification Preferred
• 3+ years experience on multi‑brand models
• Ability to read and comprehend
• High School Diploma
• Reliable Transportation
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Pass background screening requirements
• Exclusive shop dispatching of all recon work
• A/C Shop
• Ample shop bays with new and/or well‑maintained vehicle lifts
• Over $5.5 million in parts inventory across dealer network to complete jobs

Pay:
Pay range of $18‑$28 per hour depending on experience and certifications
