Summary

The position provides support to Audiology and Speech Pathology Service Office at the Lake Nona Medical Center in Orlando - FL.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the GS‑6 level you must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS‑5) in the federal service that has given you the particular knowledge, skills and abilities required to successfully perform the duties of a Program Support Assistant. Specialized experience includes performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative support duties;

performing record keeping and tracking data; preparing various documents such as memorandums and reports; answering telephones and responding to questions/needs that arise; and performing time‑keeping duties.

NOTE:

Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month and year of start/end dates, and hours worked per week. You will be rated on the following competencies as part of the assessment questionnaire:

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35‑40 hours per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part‑time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, Ameri Corps) and other organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical requirements:

The purpose of the position is sedentary. Typically the employee sits comfortably while doing the work, with occasional walking, standing, bending, carrying light items such as papers, books, small parts, or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. Duties
  • This is not a virtual position – you must live within or be willing to relocate within a commutable distance of the duty location.
  • Responsible for receipt, processing, and distribution of hearing aids and their respective supplies for Audiology patients.
  • Manage employee computer access, menu/security assignments, and coordinate training for new applications and procedures.
  • Assist PIV manager/sponsor.
  • Obtain and monitor the use of services, supplies, and equipment.
  • Responsible for time‑keeping duties for the Service.
  • Assist with scheduling and monitoring purchasing/procurement transactions.
  • Serve as purchase card holder.
  • Answer and screen phone calls.
  • Manage files and records.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Work schedule:

    Monday–Friday, 8:00 am–4:30 pm.
