SENIOR CLERK OPS
- This is specialized clerical work which requires independent decision making responsibility.

EXAMPLE OF WORK PERFORMED:

* Organizes and maintains records, filing systems and inventories.

* Prepares statements and inventory reports.

* Establishes, reviews and updates procedures.

* Reviews data for accuracy and completeness.

* Interviews and screen applicants for employment.

* Ensures that documents are properly notarized.

* Verifies eligibility requirements.

* Researches records and traces documents.

* Performs billing in accordance with established procedures.

* Communicates administrative and clerical policies and procedures.

* Assigns and prioritize work assignments as required.

* Trains other employees as required.

* Performs incidental typing as required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

* Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.

* Knowledge of correct grammar usage.

* Knowledge of basic arithmetic.

* Ability to prepare reports and correspondence.

* Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work activities.

* Ability to develop and implement office procedures.

* Ability to follow instructions.

* Ability to review data for accuracy and completeness.

* Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculations.

* Ability to communicate effectively.

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Two years of secretarial or clerical work experience

* College education from an accredited institution can substitute at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours for each year of the required work experience.

* Vocational/technical training in the area of secretarial science or office/business studies can substitute at the rate of 720 classroom hours for each year of the required work experience.

* A high school diploma or its equivalent can substitute for one year of the required work experience.
