Billing Specialist

💰 Salary Range: $55,000–$65,000 (based on experience)

A well‑established law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Billing & Accounting Specialist to support daily financial and administrative operations. This role is billing‑focused, with additional responsibility for trust accounting, light bookkeeping, spreadsheet management, new client matter setup, and conflict checks.

• Manage legal billing, including invoice creation, edits, approvals, and client distribution
• Support trust account balancing and reconciliation in compliance with legal requirements
• Perform light bookkeeping, including payment tracking and financial data maintenance
• Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets for billing, trust, and accounting reports
• Open new client matters and conduct conflict checks
• Assist attorneys and administration with billing inquiries and reporting
• Ensure billing accuracy, data integrity, and confidentiality
• Support process improvements in billing and accounting workflows

• 2–5+ years of legal billing experience required
• Experience with trust accounting, reconciliation, and compliance preferred
• Strong proficiency in Excel and spreadsheets
• Familiarity with legal billing systems and accounting workflows
• High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced legal environment
• CPA not required
