Here's how a(n) Accountant for our Nassal office contributes to our team:

  • Performs clerical and data entry support to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting.
  • Processes all accounts payable and accounts received in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Provides project teams with ad hoc reports and analysis as the need arises.
  • Participates in year-end procedures as assigned.
  • Assists with the assembly of information for internal and external financial reporting requirements.
  • Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment.
  • Prepares bank deposits and cash receipt entries.
  • Effectively communicates with internal and external stakeholders, as required.
  • Collects and obtains approval and processes through PCL business systems all accounts payable and accounts receivable in a timely and accurate manner to
    meet all contract payment terms as per legislation, contract terms, and PCL policy and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in a related field is considered an asset.
  • Some student experience or 6 months to 1 year of accounting or administrative experience is preferred.
  • Exposure to project forecasting and budgeting.
  • Introductory knowledge of construction industry; understands general construction terms and processes.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles, including maintenance of ledgers and cash flows.
  • Exposure to project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting
  • Exposure to subcontract purchase order terms, including insurance and subcontractor default insurance requirements.
  • Basic understanding of lien rights.
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation with the ability to accurately prepare and enter financial information to meet deadlines and
    requirements.
  • Ability to act with the required discretion when handling confidential information.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software is an asset.
