Staff Accountant

Location:

Florida

Compensation: $27 - $28 per hour

3‑month contract with potential for hire

Base pay range

$27.00/hr - $28.00/hr

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Bank and reconciliation support for the External Financial Reporting portfolio, including gathering and organizing large volumes of bank statements.
  • Ensure all documentation is properly stored and accessible for the portfolio of properties.
  • Upload, label, and maintain digital files in accordance with internal controls.
  • Create tickets for the resolution of significant variances for assigned properties.
  • Communicate timely to the supervisor and property teams any potential issues that may affect the accuracy of the financial statements, following the departmental escalation process.
  • Approve association budgets within the timeline required by department standards.
  • Assist GL Supervisors and Managers on accounting matters related to the portfolio.
  • Assist on special requests, ad‑hoc reporting, and projects as necessary.

  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional, and ethical conduct.
  • Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain knowledge of new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and standard operating procedures as instructed by management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility

No supervisory responsibilities.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance plus minimum 1‑2 years of experience as a staff accountant in property management or a full‑cycle accounting environment (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented with ability to manage multiple tasks and organize information.
  • Strong proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
  • Willingness to ask questions and problem‑solve.
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort handling high volumes of documentation.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self‑driven.
