The Edward

E. Haddock, Jr. Family Foundation (EEHFF) is a private family foundation in Orlando, Florida committed to advancing restorative relationships between people and the planet through human dignity and environmental stewardship.

The Staff Accountant supports the day-to-day finance operations of a mission-driven nonprofit organization with a complex, multi-entity structure, including both private operating and private non-operating foundations. This role reports directly to the Director of Accounting and plays a key supporting role in ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant financial processing across multiple entities.

The Staff Accountant will focus primarily on credit card and expense management, invoice processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting support, while working closely with internal staff and external vendors. This position is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented professional who enjoys structured processes, collaborative communication, and contributing to strong internal controls in a growing nonprofit environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Credit Card & Expense Management

  • Reconcile credit cards monthly.
  • Communicate with staff to ensure all expense reports are submitted accurately and on time.
  • Verify documentation, coding, and compliance with internal policies.
  • Resolve discrepancies between credit card statements and expense reports.

Invoice & Accounts Payable

  • Communicate with vendors and staff to obtain and verify invoices.
  • Review invoices for accuracy, approvals, and proper documentation.
  • Process approved invoices for payment following established workflows.

Bank & Account Reconciliations

  • Perform monthly bank account reconciliations.
  • Assist with basic investment and account activity reporting as needed.
  • Assist with preparation of financial statements, revenue reports, and internal reports.
  • Support ad hoc reporting requests and special projects.

Process & Compliance Support

  • Work closely with the Director of Accounting to follow established workflows and internal controls.
  • Assist with documentation and continuous process improvements.
  • Learn and operate within a multi-entity nonprofit structure.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of accounting fundamentals.
  • Experience with credit card and expense reconciliations, bank reconciliations, invoice processing/accounts payable, and basic financial reporting.
  • Comfortable communicating with staff and vendors.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and dependable.
  • Ability to learn complex organizational structures and follow established workflows.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience is a plus but not required.
