Family Law Attorney

Overview

Are you a Family Law Attorney looking to join a dynamic team? This role requires litigation, courtroom trials, mediation, and negotiation with professionalism. An active IL State Bar membership and strong legal research and writing skills are required. Salary: $120,000 - $175,000 per year.

• Represent clients in court or before government agencies, presenting evidence to defend clients or prosecute defendants in criminal or civil litigation.
• Select jurors, argue motions, meet with judges, and question witnesses during trials.
• Study constitutional provisions, statutes, decisions, regulations, and ordinances relevant to cases.
• Analyze probable case outcomes using legal precedents.
• Negotiate settlements of civil disputes.
• Conduct legal research and gather evidence.
• Protect and advocate for the client’s interests.
• Advise clients on business transactions, liability, and legal rights and obligations.
• Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations for individuals and businesses.
• Prepare and draft legal documents (wills, deeds, contracts, etc.).
• Handle complex matters such as divorce, child custody, alimony, and parental allocations.

• Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active member of the Illinois State Bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in family law.
• Proven background in marital law, divorce, dissolutions, child custody, parental allocations, alimony, and maintenance.
• Proven litigation skills and courtroom experience.
• Strong negotiation and mediation abilities.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and cases simultaneously.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• High level of professionalism and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software for case documentation and correspondence.
