Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of a healthcare provider, assist with performing patient treatments.
  • Perform basic tasks, screening procedures, and specimen collection.
  • Screen for and communicate changes in patient condition.
  • Document patient care performed.
  • Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintain the examination area.
  • May perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, billing, and patient registration.
  • Present a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
  • Refer to Scope of Practice Inventory for RN, LPN, MA and CA (RMG or NMG as indicated).
Qualifications

Required:

  • One or more years of recent experience working as a clinic assistant in a physician office or hospital setting, or completion of a training program in a medically related field, or enrollment in a medically related college degree program with intent to enter the healthcare field.
  • Basic Life Support Certification from an American Heart Association accredited source within 90 days if hired for The Health Network. Basic Life Support Certification is required effective day one if hired in the Academic Medical System (central region).
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred:

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree.
