Student - Back-End Developer - e2i

Overview

Utah Valley University’s e2i program connects students with real-world industry projects while providing paid, hands-on experience. As part of an interdisciplinary team, you will collaborate with peers and industry partners to develop solutions that meet professional standards.

We are looking for a Back-End Developer to join e2i and contribute to projects involving web and app development. In this role, you will build and maintain server-side applications, manage databases, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and secure solutions.

• Develop and maintain back-end applications and APIs
• Design and manage databases for efficient data storage and retrieval
• Implement security best practices for data protection and authentication
• Collaborate with front-end developers, designers, and project managers
• Participate in project planning, testing, and deployment
• Apply industry best practices in coding, documentation, and version control
• Other duties as assigned

• Current UVU student in good academic standing
• Available 5-10 hours per week
• Proficiency in back-end programming languages such as Python, Java, Node.js, or C#
• Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge of Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with version control (Git/Git Hub)
