Job Description: The schools social worker at the Utah County Academy of Sciences is private contractor who works with individual students who are referred by counselors, teachers, or parents. They work with families to provide services either in school. The social worker sits on a crisis response team that advises school administration on crisis response protocols and discusses individual student needs.

Education and/or Experience:

• Utah Licensed Social Worker (LCSW) or CSW able to be overseen by an LCSW, which we will provide.
• Previous experience working with school-age children preferred

Position Information: This position is not eligible for insurance benefits or paid time off.

Salary: $25 - $35, DOE

Duties and Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

• Work with families to provide services or referrals for local services.
• Support administrators and counselors with wellness checks.
• Perform duties as part of the counseling, school wellness, and crisis teams.
• Accept referrals from school counselors.
• Organize and self-manage a student case-load within the parameters outlined by the administration and counseling staff.
• Train faculty on trauma sensitivity.
• Support health teacher as needed.
• Meet with families to identify needs that support learning.
• Follow up with students who struggle with addiction and provide resources/tools to help students and families.
• Help parents and teachers with behavior management strategies, plans, and follow-up.
• Attend 504 and/or IEP meetings as needed to help with specific issues.
• Provide check-ins for students, parents, families that are working on social, emotional, or behavioral issues.
