Public Works Technician - Storm Water

Position: PUBLIC WORKS TECHNICIAN - STORM WATER
The Orem Public Works Department is currently hiring for a Public Works Technician in the Storm Water Division. This is a full-time position working under the direction of a Public Works Field Supervisor. Technicians are responsible for performing specialized duties related to the maintenance and inspection of storm water infrastructure. The position will operate light and heavy equipment including vac trucks, sweepers, dump trucks and loaders during the day and night in congested traffic and in challenging road conditions.

Responds to calls on a stand by and on-call basis as assigned. Will be involved with snow removal operations. Assists in the completion of records and reports. For a complete job description, .

- Must possess and maintain valid Utah Commercial Driver's License (CDL).The current salary range for Public Works Technicians starts at $20.21 hourly ($42,035.87) and is in a Hybrid Step/Career-Ladder pay program that allows for automatic raises on the anniversary of an employee's hire/position date (step) and career advancement based on meeting certain requirements (career ladder). New hires with previous comparable experience may be placed higher than Public Works Technician I Entry depending on previous experience, qualifications, and certifications.
