Student - Impact Associate - Data Specialist

The Center for Social Impact is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Specialist to join our team. This paid position offers an opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in data gathering, synthesis, and analysis. This position will be working directly with the Assistant Director and will provide support to the Center’s programs. The Data Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting our outreach efforts and ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of our programs.

Hours:

5-12 hours per week

• Gather and organize data from various sources, including surveys, event attendance, and programs.
• Synthesize and analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that support the Center’s initiatives.
• Assist in the preparation and compilation of the annual report, ensuring data accuracy and clarity.
• Collaborate with the Strategy Impact Fellows and Assistant Director to support data‑driven decision‑making.
• Prepare visualizations, charts, and reports to communicate data findings effectively.

• Must be a current UVU student.
• Documents required for Other:
  Any relevant examples of previous data analysis work, or data visualization work.

• Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Google Sheets, Tableau, or similar software).
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data management.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to the values of inclusion and equity.

• Experience with statistical analysis and reporting.
• Knowledge of database management and data security best practices.
• Familiarity with UVU student life and campus culture.
